Planning & Resource Consent Applications
Williams&Co handle a wide range of resource consenting and town planning matters along with strategic advice on zoning and policy changes in the land development context. Given the extensive experience of Williams & Co. in the area of Council consenting, guidance through this process is provided effectively and efficiently.
With a full understanding of the whole process, Williams & Co can ensure where any overlap with other Council processes (Building Consent, Engineering Approvals, Development Contributions) occurs, that the right advice and expertise is available.
Given the QLDC now has both an Operative and Proposed District Plan (and CODC are due to embark on a similar process) Williams&Co. are familiar with the latest changes and are well placed to provide sound advice within these fast changing regulatory environments.
Williams&Co are also well versed in Otago Regional Council requirements assisting a range of clients with obtaining necessary ORC permits and consents.

Urban Design
Both Tim & Paula are qualified Urban Designers and in this area of expertise they provide a range of advice to both Councils and private clients ranging from urban design assessments to accompany resource consent applications to Masterplan and Structure Planning advice for both resource consent and district plan zone changes. Williams&Co. is also a preferred provider to QLDC in relation to urban design expertise.

Subdivision Resource Consents
Given the background experience of Williams&Co in planning and urban design they have a particular set of skills suited to subdivision design and obtaining associated subdivision consents. Having handled a wide range of subdivisions from small urban infill subdivisions to large scale greenfield sites Williams&Co. is ideally placed to provide advice on subdivision development. Given this breadth of experience Williams&Co. is also practised at managing and being part of multi-disciplinary teams often associated within large-scale subdivision proposals.

Airbnb / Short Term Accommodation
Williams&Co understand the complex and evolving regulatory regimes relating to short term accommodation and Airbnb consenting requirements. Whether it relates to Development Contribution (DCN’s), Homestays or Certificates of Compliance Williams&Co can advise on the variety of consenting options available. Our understanding of building consent and rating requirements can also assist in forming an overall picture of options and cost implications associated with short term letting decisions.
